Works of Yuanlin Railway Zhizai Branch Text / Jingsiou Vanguard Team Mei-tu Chiu, writer of railway, once guided the students to recite the poems regarding railway, winning the first prize of Zhangxian County. In early summer of 2014, she took the old pictures and work Yuanlin Railway Zhizai Branch as well as History of Nanping Village, shared the writing skills and demonstrated to recite 12 works on Yuanlin Railway in Southern Fujian Dialect, attracting the writing interest of the public.
This time, the research topic is “Love Yuanlin Railway”. After knowing Ms. Chiu would come to guide, we thought of the idea of experiencing the railway work creation. In winter holidays, the members of Jingsiou Vanguard Team started to create. With five topics, including Yuanlin History, Yuanlin Railway, Yuanlin Sugar Railway, Railway Silo, Central Region Engineering Office of Railway Reconstruction Bureau, we wrote in the form of modern verse or nursery rhyme, supplemented by illustrations. After days of efforts, we finally completed the five books on “Love Yuanlin Railway” in succession before the lunar New Year. After school opening, we dreamed to have a presentation like Ms. Chiu.
Two Creations: Handmade Paper Trains

Ten members of Jingsiou Vanguard Team all have their own strong points. Cheng-wei, a talent good at paper folding skills, who was once exclusively interviewed by Mandarin Daily, often shares his opinions of making paper trains. Before the assessment at the end of semester, he tried to make a small palmtop train with waste paper, and after the assessment, he showed his medium-sized handmade paper train before us. I couldn’t help going to interview him, and he talked about the making material, sequence, time, as well as the train functions. His ideas are very good! In the short record lasting for three minutes, there was no NG, and we couldn’t wait for uploading the record into YouTube to share with the public. Cheng-wei in the film, wearing the conductor’s hat, is talking about the Jingsiou train he made and he wants to give it to his alma mater before his graduation to leave it in Jingsiou Station, aiming to spread the beauty of railway of the hometown. I, as his tutor, witnesses that the seeds of “Love Yuanlin Railway” training class are sprouting.
