Backstage Hero of Yuanlin Elevated Railway

I thought that the railway affairs close to life were managed by Railway Administration before. However, after attending Cyberfair project, I discovered the backstage hero of Yuanlin Elevated Railway. Its predecessor was The Engineering Office of Taipei Railway Underground Project (TRUPO) established in July 1983, it was renamed into “Railway Reconstruction Bureau” in the New Year’s Day of 2002, and afterwards, Easter, Southern, and Central Engineering Offices were set in succession. Yuanlin Elevated Railway was built by First Engineering Section of the Central Engineering Office. According to the current director of Central Engineering Office, Mr. Director Wen-gui Hsu and the current director of First Engineering Section, Mr. Chief Sen-yong He, the events his office took charge of are as below:：
- 2006.02 “Elevated Railway Plan in Urban Area of Yuanlin” was approved by Executive Yuan
- 2007.09 The construction of Yuanlin Elevated Railway started [temporary rail stage]
- 2008.10 The construction of temporary rail of Yuanlin Elevated Railway started
- 2009.07 Central Engineering Office was established, and First Engineering Section took charge of Yuanlin Elevated Railway project
- 2009.10 Completion of temporary rail of Yuanlin Elevated Railway
- 2009.11 Yuanlin Station was switched into western line of temporary platform
- 2010.01 Yuanlin Station was switched into eastern line of temporary platform
- 2010.06 The construction of Yuanlin Elevated Railway Bridge started [permanent rail stage]
- 2011.06 The construction of Yuanlin Elevated Railway Station started
- 2012.03 Yuanlin Land Bridge was closed and dismantled
- 2012.12 Yuanlin Railway Bridge Bid of Central Engineering Office won Jin’an Prize
- 2013.07 Yuanlin Railway Station Bid of Central Engineering Office won Jin’an Prize
- 2014.11 Yuanlin Elevated Railway Bridge and Station were open to traffic
- 2014.11 Railway crossings at Huilai St. and Beishi St. were removed, and Shuangping Underpass was removed
- 2014.12 Yuanlin Railway Station Bid of Central Engineering Office won Jinzhi Prize; grade crossing of Jingsiou Road and grade crossing of northern section of Yuanlin Blvd. were removed
- 2015.01 Yuanlin Blvd. was open to traffic, Huiming underpass was removed, Shuangping underpass was filled and leveled up and open to traffic
- 2015.02 Huiming underpass was leveled up and open to traffic, Juguang Road was open to traffic.
It is predicted that Nanchang underpass will be removed in March 2015, Minsheng underpass will be removed in May, old station will be removed and beautified in June, grade crossing underpass was filled up in September, and etc.
