Calligraphy Demonstration and Charity Sales      by Zheng-Wen Huang

图片
An event of calligraphy demonstration and charity sales was held today at school. Lots of people came, including the members of Huang Xi Jiu Guai, as well as reporters from various news stations and newspaper offices. We hope to spread the art of calligraphy through this event, and allow more people to appreciate the benefits and positive effects brought by calligraphy.

We observed calligraphy demonstrated by the prodigies. Each of them has their own uniqueness, which was really impressive. They also wrote some couplets, which are also one of the items we are going to sell in our Charity Sales on January 18th, and gave them out as presents. I believe these beautiful arts will glorify our upcoming event.

I feel honored to have these prodigies participating our events, and privileged to see them in action. They brought me to a whole different world of calligraphy which helps me to understand this art a little more.

Today was a big day for us, because we invited the prodigies from Huang Xi Jiu Guai to demonstrated calligraphy for us live! The art works are going to be one of the items we are going to sell on January 18th in our Charity Sales event. They also wrote couplets to give away to the parents in our school districts. We also prepared lots of performance such as Zhongruan, ocarina and flute. We were really nervous, but we hope to deliver our love to rural areas and Africa through music and art.

Ten prodigies, including lots of familiar faces, came to Jing-Siou Elementary School today for the demonstration of calligraphy. I could wait to see them perform the writing of couplets live! I found it interesting that some of them used technique such as Dry Brush, while some allows the brush to absorb lots of ink to show different styles of calligraphy.
