The Reflection Of Interview with Xu Jin- Fa

On Monday morning, we came to the science classroom to interview Xu Jin-Fa, a member of “Masters of Sulphur Creek”.
At the beginning, Xu made a brief introduction for us and explained his inspiration for his works. “Actually, my evaluations from audience vary widely; in the other words, people who don’t appreciate my work think they are terrible.” said Xu. “Because I liked to present the feeling of ‘painting with words, words have painted’, most of my works are abstract painting” He added.
I felt satisfied with the interview and I learned one thing is that artists must stay true to their own style.

Today, Mrs. Lin leaded us to Xu’s studio to appreciate his art works. I saw many special works. However, I made deep impression on three paintings. These are “bananas”, “sugarcanes” and “sweet potatoes”. Xu explained that those food had been his memory in the childhood. Besides, I saw a big mask that was Xu’s souvenir from Africa.
After introduction of art works, he taught us how to frame our painting works or calligraphy works. We all pay much attention to his demonstration because the process of framing is interesting. Thank to Xu’s introduction, I learned the extra knowledge about framing skill.
