The Reflection Of Black and White

By   Huang Ruo-ci
Today, Ms. Lin leaded us to Changhua Art Museum to attend the opening tea party for Zhwang’s solo exhibition called “Black and White”.
There were many audiences in the meeting. They were amazed at Zhwang’s works because his works have become diverse, vibrant, and powerful in terms of script and form. Zhwang aims to share his thoughts and emotional ideas by his calligraphy work. For example, I made a deep impression on his work,
Si-Yi-Shen-Chao, revealed his creative imagination.
What we saw in the meeting is Zhwang’s masterpiece out of his effort. Based on my observation, his works offered a broader sensory experience. After viewing his exhibition, I want to be an outstanding calligrapher like him in some days.

Today’s afternoon, Ms. Lin took us to visit Zhwang’s individual calligraphy exhibition at the Changhua Art Museum. Upon entering the meeting, I admire Zhwang’s pieces, particularly this Chinese poem “把握當下、守常禪居、不處下流、自然上達”, for its philosophy attitude.      At the opening, the emcee invited guests to make an oration. Later, we started to view calligraphy works including different phases, particularly, the sentence “不處下流,自然上達” which evokes resonance among audiences.
Then, Zhwang share his views toward calligraphy. He said “When I have no inspiration to create, I try to relax myself by walking.” In my opinion, every artist will have a dilemma in their career; however, they never give up and show their positive attitude toward their life.
The exhibition really widens my horizon toward Chinese culture. Besides, I enjoyed the quietness of the atmosphere. I think I will visit the calligraphy exhibition if I have time.

When I went to the Changhua Art Museum, I saw many works and audiences. It is master Zhwang’s solo exhibition so that he appeared in the stage with his benign smile.
When I viewed the works, I particularly liked Su-Shi’s poems, which precisely depict that children’s movement in the case of playing. Besides, I appreciated Chinese characters-arrangement, rational layout and formation of beautiful style.
Although Zhwang didn’t spent much time explaining his works, his effort and positive attitude enlightened me. To sum up, I learn how to appreciate calligraphy works based on the basic strokes, the structure of Chinese character-arrangement, and rational layout.
