I’m very pleased to participate in Cyberfair because I could obtain lots of knowledge and have fun with those that participated and completed the project with them. Cooperation feels way better than working alone, so I’m very happy to be a part of this aggressive Cyberfair contest.
We had been on fields trips to Ben Feng Farm (本豐農場), Mushroom Tribe Ecological Leisure Farm (蘑菇部落生態休閒農場), Xin He Chun Soy Sauce Factory (新和春醬油) and Fu Jing Restaurant (福井食堂) (inside Taiwan Railway Museum). In Ben Feng Farm, we received lots of mushroom related knowledge and my questions were answered. In Mushroom Tribe, they played a film introducing its farm and showed us around. Then, when we arrived Xin He Chun Soy Sauce Factory, the boss was ready to introduce its factory and give us a tour in it. We even tasted the soy sauce. Lastly, we visited Fu Jing Restaurant. It sells lunch boxes. When we visited, there were many guests, which made buying lunch boxes uneasy. After the restaurant closed, we were led to visit other place and then went back. Again, I’m very happy to participate in the project, and I hope we stand out in the crowd.
Upon hearing the news of participating in Cyberfair, I thought it was going to be a tough task because of the constant data arrangement and typing. Afterwards, however, I found that I learnt a lot from these activities and my typing skill was upgraded. I also got to know all kinds of appliances such as directional microphone and tablet. Cyberfair is an online competition. We had to go on field trips, take down information and type them up. Among them, my favorite part is field trips because, first of all, going on a trip is fun and secondly, learning outside school gave me more feedback! At first, Cyberfair did not arouse my interest because one had to do a lot of works. Those works struck me as annoying but then I got used to it and realized that Cyberfair gave me a chance to learn outside school and I absorbed more knowledge!
I’m very honored to be able to participate in Cyberfair because working with everyone gave me a sense of accomplishment. I also learnt many new skills. Although the process was hard, we had fun.
Cyberfair gave us a chance to interview many experts. We were all very zealous in arranging the data from the interviews, hoping to make them complete. Among the interviewees, I adore the owner of Fu Jing Restaurant – Chen, Zhao Qiang the most. There are all kinds of train collections that have a long history in his restaurant. He had bought long at high prices just for the preservation of the railway antiques. His favorite collection is 135 patrol train, which he bought at 40,000 NT dollars and spent almost 500,000 NT dollars to repair it until it could move again. His love and deed for the antiques is admirable.
At last, I hope we try our best to complete the project and get an ideal grade at Cyberfair.
I had decided to take part in Cyberfair project. As to why, the story began a week before the monthly exam: that day, the teacher announced, “if anyone wants to participate in Cyberfair, go home and pass on the news to parents and ask them to send consents through messages. Cyberfair project is going to be a hard work, so think twice before you decide to join.” I was very happy upon hearing the news. Once I went home, I told my father about it and I successfully got the chance to take part in it. Just as what the teacher had noted, the process was uneasy. It was toilsome. We had to go on field trips, wrote comments and transcribed afterwards. Yet, I learnt a lot. For example, when we went to Ben Feng Farm, Ms. Zhuang told us that the function of mushroom culture room is to accelerate circulation velocity; in the same FIBC bag but different environment, mushroom qualities differ; there are no different kinds of king oyster mushrooms and a mushroom farm can only plant 1-2kinds of mushrooms for the mutual interference characteristic of different fungi. When we went to Mushroom Tribe, General Manager Fang mentioned that Mushroom Tribe is a farm built from scratch by him and his partners. The core of fungi biotechnology is “human being”. We ought to conform to nature, respect lives, devote ourselves to strict food safety, use the technology that abide by natural rules and infuse technology into natural life. Through promoting organic life style, we hope that all the consumers eat healthily and have fun here. I benefited a great deal from the trip and I hope I have another chance to participate in Cyberfair!
To complete the Cyberfair project, we visited many amazing experts.
Our first visit was to Ben Feng Farm to interview Boss Chang who imparted to us the basic knowledge of king oyster mushrooms. Our second visit was to Mushroom Tribe to interview General Manager Fang that showed us many different kinds of mushrooms which we did not recognize and taught us the right way to conduct an interview. The third trip was to interview Mr. Change, the boss of Xin He Chun Soy Sauce Factory. He told us the history of soy sauce: what people used to use and how they made soy sauce. Our fourth visit was to interview Mr. Chen, the boss of Fu Jing Restaurant. He showed us train tickets of all the train stations in Taiwan and four different kinds of steam whistle. Our fifth visit was to interview Pin Rui Farm’s President, Mr. Hong. He told us the temperature suitable for the growth of white elf mushrooms and the taught us to tell the different between king oyster mushrooms and white elf mushrooms.
It was a hard work participating in Cyberfair because we had to type in tons of information, but I also gained plenty of knowledge and learnt interview skills.
The first time I heard about Cyberfair was when I became a fifth grader. At first, I had no idea what Cyberfair is, but after the teacher introduced it to us, my eyes flickered with excitement because I wanted to be a part of it. For fear of Wuhan Coronavirus, we had to wear masks when going on field trips. First, we went to PX Mart to see the kinds of mushrooms. Second, we arrived at Mushroom Tribe to see mushrooms’ growing environment and tasted mushroom dumplings. Third, we visited Pin Rui Farm and watched king oyster mushroom’s growing process. Last, we went to Xin He Chun Soy Sauce Factory in Shetou to see how soy sauce is made and we had lunch at Fu Jing Restaurant, where we interviewed the owner Chen, Zhao Qiang and watched his antique train collections. We also found that the 135 patrol train in Fu Jing Restaurant is the same type as the one on our campus.
The teacher told us that the participants of Cyberfair project aggregated 10 students. After we were informed how it should be done, we started to distribute workload. Because this is my first time taking part in Cyberfair, I had an omen of being in a spin.
Our first stop is Ben Feng Farm. Upon arriving, we saw a woman who introduced herself. She was the president’s wife. She came to give us a tour on behalf of the absent president. This was the first interview we had and it broadened my horizon. The second visit started the next day winter break began. We went to Mushroom Tribe and the interview took us a long time. Then, we went to Shetou to visit Xin He Chun Soy Sauce Factory and Fu Jing Restaurant. My impression of the lunch box is that the soy sauce was very salty but it was delicious. I ate with relish. The places we went to are special and were the places I had never been to before, so I committed them deeply to memory.
One morning, the teacher asked who wanted to participate in Cyberfair. Right on cue, everyone raised his/her hand, but just after hearing about the heavy workload, many chickened out and put down their hands. Only few hands were raised high. The teacher sighed “OK.”
Some days later, the students that participated in Cyberfair were left in the classroom to prepare for the field visits that afternoon. I stayed in the classroom until afternoon. We were finally going out and I was rejoiced with excitement when I got on the car. When we reached Ben Feng Farm, we set up our photography equipment before we commenced the interview. The farm’s owner is the president of Taiwan Junior Chamber. The one that gave us an introduction is his wife who taught us the attributes of the farm.
A few days later, we were, yet again, left in the classroom, but this time, we came to school on winter vacation. The teacher told us we were going to visit Mushroom Tribe. It sounds so cool! I was looking forward to it. After we arranged the data, we set out on our journey. When we got to Mushroom Tribe, we saw a small slide and when we entered the farm, a grandeur office came to sight. The general manager narrated the origin of Mushroom Tribe in the office.
It was a hard task to be a part of the Cyberfair project, and yet, we gained lots of knowledge and had a chance to fight for glory for ourselves, to train ourselves.
Cyberfair started off and I was happy and excited about it.
The project took us first to Ben Feng Farm where there were mushrooms planted. The president’s wife imparted to us many basic information and mushroom related knowledge. Next, we visited Mushroom Tribe. It was established by Fang, Shi Wen. The reason behind his establishment is that he has been loving eating mushroom since he was little, as simple as that. We visited its culture room, saw the growing and spawn running process of mushrooms, and different kinds of mushrooms. After we had lunch, we went back. We also visited Soy Sauce Factory and Fu Jing Restaurant. The last spot we went to is Pin Rui Farm. It is actually my classmate’s family farm. His father grows mushroom and told us a lot about mushrooms.
Although the process is toilsome, especially the typing hart which wore me out, I gained a great deal of knowledge and therefore, I hope to be granted more chances to acquire new knowledge.
