At 11:30, the teacher gathered us at Yuanlin Train Station. When we reached Shetou, we visited Taiwan Railway Relics Museum in Fu Jing Restaurant. It was crowded there. We stayed in line for a long time before we got in to dine in the restaurant. Then, we went upstairs to Taiwan Railway Relics Museum to see around. There are abundant collections, inclusive of train tickets from all the stations in Taiwan, shirts of 80 years old, cleaning ladies’ old outfit, the brooms they used, old stuff and admission tickets. Boss Chen, Zhao Qiang’s father was a train driver, but he repelled the idea of becoming one, and wanted to sell lunch boxes.
I learnt a lot and had fun today thanks to Mr. Chen, Zhao Qiang.

Recently, we visited Fu Jing Restaurant. The owner there collected many railways related and time-honored relics. In his eyes, the most valuable collection is the 135 patrol train, which he bought at 40,000 dollars and spent 500,000 dollars to repair it until it can move again. He made a splurge on preserving railway relics, and I think such spirit admirable. I’m very pleased to have a chance to visit Fu Jing Restaurant and I hope I have another chance to come.

We had lunch at Fu Jing Restaurant and in the afternoon, Boss Chen, Zhao Qiang introduced his beloved railway collections to us. From Japanese ruled era to now, the boss’s grandfather, second granduncle, third granduncle and his father were train drivers. I’m impressed. We also learnt that there’s a train on our campus- Jing Siou Elementary School that is similar to the one in Fu Jing Restaurant is sent from Fu Jing Restaurant. Also, it is amazing that President Tsai had dined here.

Today, the teacher brought us to take train to Fu Jing Restaurant. Upon arrival, we interviewed Mr. Chen about Fu Jing Restaurant and its history. Then, he gave us a tour on second floor. It happened that his grandfather’s birthday was approaching so he showed us some of his stuff from his awards to his uniform of 80 years. Next, he introduced to us one of his favorite collections – train tickets. He has train tickets from all the stations in Taiwan. Then, he let us play with his air whistles. After the visit, he treated us to milk tea.
We returned fully loaded and very pretty happy. We thank Mr. Chen, Zhao Qiang for taking time to receive us.
