At nine thirty one morning, the teacher assembled us and we were ready to go to Pin Rui Farm. When we arrived, the chairman Hong, Rui Hong brought us to where the mushrooms were cultivated and gave us an introduction. He said it took 24 days for the mushrooms to be harvested. The temperature have to be kept between 22 to 25 degrees. Besides, CO2 speeds up mushrooms’ growing rate, but if the level of CO2 is too high, it, on the contrary, lowers mushrooms’ quality, so we have to maintain it at the proper rate based on our experience. After the tour, chairman Hong gave us an interview. He told us that he used to have a fan page but no one managed it so it is no more in use. We are also informed that there are 12 employees on his farm. Thanks to chairman Hong, I benefited a lot from the tour.
Today, we visited Pin Rui Farm. On the farm, they grow king oyster mushrooms and beauty white mushrooms. I think the farm is fully equipped, because they have CO2 tester, automatic water sprinkler and so on. I also found that the mushrooms grown on the farm look great. Every process in cultivation has to be dealt with great care and every detail be taken care of so their mushrooms can turn out to be of high quality.
Inside the packaging department, we saw the employees diligently packaging and classifying mushrooms. Their spirit is admirable. It is a pleasure to visit Pin Rui Farm and I hope I can visit again.
One Thursday on winter vacation, the teacher took us on the field trip to Pin Rui Farm. It was a fine and hot sunny day.
When we arrived Pin Rui Farm, a handsome man walked toward us, whom was identified as the owner of the farm and former chairman of our school – Chairman Hong. He was zealous in imparting us with many Pin Rui Farm related knowledge and we were all ears.
He told us many things, for instance, Pin Rui Farm does not only grow king oyster mushrooms, but also different kinds of mushrooms such as white elf mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and edible tree fungus, but mostly king oyster mushrooms. I learnt a lot.
I received a ton of mushroom related knowledge on the trip to Pin Rui Farm, and I hope I can visit again!
The fist spot we went to when visiting Pin Rui Farm is to see its king oyster mushrooms. The temperature there is maintained at 22 to 24 Celsius. And then, we went to see where white elf mushrooms are grown. The temperature there is higher than that of king oyster mushrooms. The chairman told us that the whiter the king oyster mushrooms’ FIBC bags are, the healthier they are. On the contrary, the yellower the bags are for white elf mushrooms, the bigger they grow. If the bags are too white, they will grow smaller.
King oyster mushrooms have different sizes; their hats go from small to super big. We saw different levels of mushrooms in packaging department. Before we headed back to school, the chairman gave everyone a pack of king oyster mushrooms and a pack of white elf mushrooms, which made my day.
