Xi Hu Sugar Refinery had successfully transformed into tourism refinery. It has provided tourists with different kinds of activities, one of the most famous one being tourist train.
The tourist trains are modified from sugarcane trains and their locomotives are 346 steam locomotives or other locomotives. A ride takes 50 minutes. The train travels to Zhuoshui Station and then turn back, accumulating to 7 kilometers in total. On holidays, the train is only in service at certain time. On week days, it carries passengers if there are over 20 of them.
Wu Fen Train Station is in Railway Cultural District. Its roof is woodened constructed. Beside it there are wooden tables and piles of railroad sleepers stacking up as chairs for the visitors to take rest.
What is Wu Fen Train?
The track gauge of Xi Hu Sugar Train railway is 762 millimeters, half gauge shorter than the international standard one. 50% in Taiwanese is pronounced “wu fen zi”, and thus, the train is called Wu Fen Train.
