In October, 1919, a Lukang Local Gentry –Gu, Xian-Rong had merged Xi Hu Ding Liao Sugar Factory, Pu Yan Zhuang Da Feng Branch, Pi Tou Liam Kau Cuo (埤頭連交厝) and Er Lin Da Pai Sha Sugar Factory and established Da He Sugar Co., Ltd. In July, 1920, it merged with Japan Meiji Sugar Corporation and became Xi Hu Sugar Refinery.
After the recovery of Taiwan subsequent to World War II, the Sugar Corporations, including Great Japanese Empire, Taiwan, Meiji and Ensuiko were merged and nationalized, put under the charge of Ministry of Economic Affairs, becoming Taiwan Sugar Corporation. On May, 1st, 1946, it was officially renamed as Taiwan Sugar Corporation Xi Hu Sugar Refinery.
