一、The Idea

The original idea was only to have students share what they had seen to the rest of their classmates. But it would be a pity if their hard-work was only shared with classmates. Therefore, after getting consents from the team members, the teachers decided to have students from 503 to share what they had learned to all fifth graders.

The students fixed up the conference room nicely.

Other students were paying close attention to the explanation from the team members.

二、To Popularize

After discussion, we decided to make posters to popularize this activity. We had the students planning the different sections on the posters: the title, the pictures, the explanation and the artworks. Students searched on line for any possible relevant information as supplement materials. Six full-sized posters were completed, following the fixing up to the conference room. Students were divided into five teams: Shrine in the Main Hall, Shrine in the Side Hall, Shrine on the Second Floor, the Art of Jian-Nian and Songs. All the classes form the fifth grade were invited to arrive at different time to learn about this activity.

The instructing teacher replenished the students with more information

Everyone was reading the explanation on the posters carefully.

三、The Results and What We Have Learned

During the process of poster making, we found that students needed lots of assistance as to the making of posters, or they would not have finished the posters smoothly. For the description parts, it was easier and faster to print out the materials instead of writing them down on the posters, which is much more time-consuming. Moreover, the students who were in charge of making explanation need to prepare their speech beforehand, or they would just be reading from the text, which would have made the results less effective.

The students indicating that other than the complication of poster-making, not being stage fright during the presentation was also crucial. Most team members said that the experience was very special, and was something they had never tried before in school. They were happy to share what they had learned at this Web Exhibition.

Everyone sang the old Alma Master and the Song of San-Sen Temple together.

The members of the Web Exhibition and the students who participated took a picture together

The team members put out the posters in the hallway
